Christmas on the Pearl

The Captain's quarters are set. The large desk has been cleared of Jack's personal goods. The rest of the room is neat and orderly, as it tends to be (much to Gibbs' constant surprise). Whatever chairs can be found belowdecks have been dragged up by the first mate, creating a cozy feel.
The desk and the larger chests are covered with oilcloth, which serve as crude tablecloths. The ship's hodgepodge of dishes, cups and silverware, plundered from many ports and ships, sit near a selection of traditional holiday treats, from ham to mincepie. At the center of the desk, there is a crystal decanter with a gold nameplate saying "Captain Jack Sparrow", filled with red wine, surrounded by matching glasses.
And there is a small, sparsely decorated tree in a corner near the hammock.
It's Christmas on the Black Pearl. Welcome.

Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 02:00 pm (UTC)"You! What trouble are you going to get us into this time?"
Re: Toasts
Date: 2006-12-27 02:10 pm (UTC)"And you took on Mutineers hmm? That's...kind. Not wise, but kind" she chuckled.
Re: Toasts
Date: 2006-12-27 02:26 pm (UTC)"All that said, though, we aren't particular. It's hard times, being a pirate."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 03:48 pm (UTC)That ought to keep her busy for a while.

Date: 2006-12-27 03:54 pm (UTC)"I have not heard of Serenity," she says. After a moment, a small laugh escapes. "But then, I'm not given to feeling particularly serene."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 03:55 pm (UTC)Quietly curious, she takes a step closer.

Date: 2006-12-27 04:01 pm (UTC)Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 04:20 pm (UTC)Taking a deep breath, Elizabeth straightens and looks him in the eye.
"Care to show me to the rum, Mr. Gibbs?"
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 04:22 pm (UTC)"Right this way, Miss Swann."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 04:26 pm (UTC)Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:08 pm (UTC)"...and I'm being thoughtless!" she blinked, finally looking around "Let me find you a chair...geez..."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:10 pm (UTC)"Some future past that doesn't exist anymore. Easier to say I'm from here"
Re: Toasts
Date: 2006-12-27 05:13 pm (UTC)Then she shook her head softly "Strange. I'd think more people would want to be..."
Re: Toasts
Date: 2006-12-27 05:21 pm (UTC)"I think that while many envy the life of the pirate, few are bold enough to try." Whichis to say, most are smart enough not to. "But it's also that times have changed. The Royal Navy has made a priority of bringing about the end of piracy in the Atlantic. And the East India Company is, if what I hear in Tortuga is true, is intent on making it come under their purview."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:27 pm (UTC)"Hardly thoughtless. I feel I should enjoy being vertical as long as possible." She does not, however, protest the search for a chair.
"Do you know who is scheduled to be here this evening?"
Re: Toasts
Date: 2006-12-27 05:27 pm (UTC)She was sad though, the very air seemed to shiver with the emotion at the tale of being hounded out..."I can't help with that" she admitted. "And in my last world, there weren't any sea pirates that I knew of...the world was just getting to small I think."
She let her gaze travel upwards to the ceiling though, and beyond that the stars. "Pirates need places to get lost in..."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:29 pm (UTC)"Likely none, yes?"
Beat.
"Unless you are running out of food."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:31 pm (UTC)Then she shook her head softly as she glanced around "No, I came in from on the lake, and I barely read the invitation...is there anyone you'd like to see?" Yes, Rachel would drag people in from Milliways, Jack's invite or no.
Cheerfully to.
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:40 pm (UTC)"But the last time we saw you, you led the Captain into a fair hell. And all he returned with was coffin and a picture of a key. Surely you could have told him of the key without that."
Re: Arrivals
Date: 2006-12-27 05:58 pm (UTC)"Possibly."
That grin is apparently not going anywhere.
"But it would, I think, not have been half so entertaining."
