And he schemed to strike a false deal with Barbossa, where he would lift the curse, and then kill Barbossa, no longer made undead and quite vulnerable to the one bullet in Jack's gun." And as Gibbs tells the tale, he realizes that - like everything Jack touches - what sems simple had become highly complicated.
