The Captain's quarters are set. The large desk has been cleared of Jack's personal goods. The rest of the room is neat and orderly, as it tends to be (much to Gibbs' constant surprise). Whatever chairs can be found belowdecks have been dragged up by the first mate, creating a cozy feel.

The desk and the larger chests are covered with oilcloth, which serve as crude tablecloths. The ship's hodgepodge of dishes, cups and silverware, plundered from many ports and ships, sit near a selection of traditional holiday treats, from ham to mincepie. At the center of the desk, there is a crystal decanter with a gold nameplate saying "Captain Jack Sparrow", filled with red wine, surrounded by matching glasses.

And there is a small, sparsely decorated tree in a corner near the hammock.

It's Christmas on the Black Pearl. Welcome.

"I did," Alanna tells her, eyes shining. "They're absolutely perfect, and thank you so much. I've a gift for you, but it's in my rooms."

Murmuring a quick spell, Alanna spins the purple light of her magic into an image of a small sword.

"For our lessons, when I'm back on my feet."

She eyed the image curiously, then nodded "That looks so much friendlier than the one I have" she noted. Was that relief in her tone?

Yes, probably.

"Do you know anyone who needs a sword? It's...shiny...but creepy."

"I have one of those myself," she remarks, shaking her hand until the image disappears. "I can't think of anybody offhand, but you can leave it with me if you wish. It wouldn't be the first disturbing sword I've mastered."

Her brows knit together in a frown as she remembers Roger's sword.

She shrugged slightly, careful not to dislodge Alanna's arm though "It's not magical or anything, was just in a pretty evil place full of evil people." she remarked.

"And it's lighter than it should be" she added after a moment.

"It's amazing what evil people in an evil place can do with a perfectly normal sword," Alanna tells her. "Lighter? Yes, I'd like to take a look at it."

She chuckled softly, as she could only agree with that particular statement. "I'm sure Bar would be glad to be rid of it" she admitted. No, the thing was not allowed in her little sanctuary of a room.

"...and I'm being thoughtless!" she blinked, finally looking around "Let me find you a chair...geez..."

Surprised, Alanna smiles and shakes her head.

"Hardly thoughtless. I feel I should enjoy being vertical as long as possible." She does not, however, protest the search for a chair.

"Do you know who is scheduled to be here this evening?"

"Well, we can settle for half vertical for now?" Rachel chuckled after dragging over Jack's chair. It was more comfy than the others. "Just to save the aching feet"

Then she shook her head softly as she glanced around "No, I came in from on the lake, and I barely read the invitation...is there anyone you'd like to see?" Yes, Rachel would drag people in from Milliways, Jack's invite or no.

Cheerfully to.

"The feet do thank you, no matter what the head says about remaining standing," Alanna laughs, settling into the chair. She's always rather liked this chair. "Jack, naturally. No, I was more curious as to whether or not he had invited Elizabeth and Will."

"For your kids sake, I kinda hope that stubbornness isn't a family trait" she teased. She knew it was a rather hopeless wish, but hey...

"An Elizabeth Swann?" Rachel offered curiously "Not exactly friends of Jack's, but as she put it "Also from the Carribean and having sailed together before" or something like that." she chuckled. "Should I go back and growl at her?"

Alanna snorts.

"It's more than a family trait. It's a certainty," she replies. "That's the one."

Frowning, she slowly shakes her head and sighs.

"The growl is tempting. We have a fundamental difference of opinion, and thus don't get along very well. She is a spoiled brat, but I suppose I should be charitable in the spirit of today. Glaring, however, is perfectly acceptable."

"Well, I hope it manifests in kinder ways than "I'm staying on my feet, good idea or no" " she laughed.

Then she sobered, like shadows slipping across the sun "She has no idea what to make of me, and I'm certain glaring on my part will be terrifying" she promised. "We'll see if she decides to be a pain."

All told? Rachel made a very good watch dog.

"If Jack is all right with her presence, who am I to argue?"

Casting a sidelong look at Rachel, Alanna wonders how much she will read into that.

"Jack seems to like challenge and conflict as much as he does adventure" Rachel chuckled. "So argue all you like"

"Bonus points if we end up dunking her."

Rachel glanced over at Jack...weighed the likelihood of Jack being suspicious...then sighed. "Maybe we should ask Gibbs"

Then she eyed the chair Alanna was in "Hey, wheels..."

Wheels?

Curious, Alanna attempts to lean over the sides to take a look. It's all very and graceful and doesn't exactly work, so she sits back with a sigh and smiles.

"I'll take your word for it. Food table?"

Her stomach growls insistently.

Alanna grins.

"Yes ma'am" Rachel grinned, slipping behind the chair. Of course, the wheels were stiff and uncooperative, as otherwise it'd be a pain on a boat...

But Rachel wasn't going to let that be a problem right now.

And she didn't try to run anyone over, honest!
