Christmas on the Pearl

The Captain's quarters are set. The large desk has been cleared of Jack's personal goods. The rest of the room is neat and orderly, as it tends to be (much to Gibbs' constant surprise). Whatever chairs can be found belowdecks have been dragged up by the first mate, creating a cozy feel.

The desk and the larger chests are covered with oilcloth, which serve as crude tablecloths. The ship's hodgepodge of dishes, cups and silverware, plundered from many ports and ships, sit near a selection of traditional holiday treats, from ham to mincepie. At the center of the desk, there is a crystal decanter with a gold nameplate saying "Captain Jack Sparrow", filled with red wine, surrounded by matching glasses.

And there is a small, sparsely decorated tree in a corner near the hammock.

It's Christmas on the Black Pearl. Welcome.

The Captain and his stalwart First Mate await the guests. (This once, Gibbs won't even say anything about women on a ship.)

Rachel never was good with time, so she simply came as it grew dark. Walking across the waters with the occasional flicker of flame and dressed once more in spandex of the heroine type.

She even knocked on the side of the ship gently, waiting for permission to board.

Gibbs here a knock from a strange place. That's not the kind of sound he wants to hear.

But then he sees...a woman? Dressed in her underwear? Standing on the water?

"Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" An apt way of putting it perhaps, if a little sacrilegious for the day.

Rachel glanced upward, and even in the fading light the emerald of her eyes was clear "Rachel Grey" she corrected easily, and the smile was felt in the bones.

Jack's grinning, almost wild with relief, as he surveys everything.

"Much more better."

Rach would never correct his english...because it was the thought that counted.

That and she'd never really learned it proper herself. So, she just grinned, though it was a shadow laced expression...and hesitantly offered a hug. Tofu...

Well, it left a mark.

There's no hesitation on Jack's side, though. Swaying a little, he slips an arm around her waist and draws her in, pressing a quick kiss to the wild fire of her hair.

"Ah, luv." The rough tone is rueful and wry. "Quite an adventure we've had, aye?"

"It's good to have things back to..." He almost says normal, but that never applies here. "Back. And in time for the Lord's birthday."

Not even a few words for old times sake? Alanna will be heartily disappointed.

She arrives, late but entirely unapologetic for it, slightly out of breath. Nearly seven months pregnant with triplets, it's a miracle she made it this far. Or so she tells herself to feel better about the effort it takes.

"Gibbs!" she exclaims, flashing both captain and first mate a mischievous grin. "I'm ever so pleased to see you."

"Miss Alanna..." Gibbs breaks out in a smile. "You're with child. And a large one at that!" He estends a hand to help. "It's good to see you."

Rachel was there at Alanna's side soon after her arrival, a warm arm slung over her shoulder. Of all the people Rachel was hiding from now?

Alanna was among the singular exceptions.

With a wicked grin, Jack leans in and kisses her cheek -- for once.

Captain Jack requests the pleasure of your company? Elizabeth asks herself yet again as she quietly slips on board.

She has puzzled over those words ever since receiving the invitation. At first, she assumed it was a mistake.

And then, she wondered if it was a trap.

Currently, she's both bemused and suspicious, looking around with a stubborn expression that dares anyone to question her presence.

Perhaps she should have waited for Will.

"Happy Christmas, Miss Swann." Gibbs is not unhappy to see Elizabeth. He has not idea what's going on. "Will Will be joining you?"

This...was a woman Rachel didn't know, so it probably wasn't a surprise that the spandex clad Rachel was watching her. She didn't mean to be rude, but she wasn't hiding her curiosity either...

At one point when she is looking around, she will find a skinny, grinning man looking back.

Raven, it must be said, is occasionally an ass.

But it is Christmas.

Maybe he will control himself.

Jack's smile is wickedly sharp, and black eyes are glittering, but he sounds amiable enough.

Raven, of late, has been most used to talking with Jack Sparrow while--





Well, while being much smaller and more of the female persuasion.

But sometimes he can be almost polite, and so it is that the gangly figure in the blue jeans and black coat is likely familiar.

And tall.

And male.

And hungry.

Hopefully he is also good company.

Hunger could be easily remedied, especially when there were perceptive people ghosting about the edges of the party. It probably wasn't surprising that an empath passed a plate of holiday snacks to the newcomer, emerald eyes more than a little amused.

The Pearl is much more welcoming this way than it was for the gala. More welcoming and real by far. Thus, Wellard is quite much happier to be arriving for this party- specially accompanied by one Miss Hannah Griffith.

"Mister Wellard! Welcome, and Merry Christmas!" Gibbs is quite happy to see the young seaman. "And I see you have a guest." He smiles at the (to his old eyes) very young woman.

Leaning against the port rail, Elizabeth overhears Gibbs's greeting and slowly turns to look at the new arrivals.

Wellard. She feels as if she should know the name. He's obviously well known to Jack's first mate.

Eventually, she wraps chilled fingers around a bottle of rum and saunters over, eyes cautious.

"Good evening."

Jack's grin is a touch wry, and he brings up one hand to touch his hat as he nods to Hannah.

"And I see you've brought the lass along again."
